We collect information you provide directly, as well as some information automatically:

• Account information — name, email, phone number and password.
• Profile & listing information — addresses, photos and item descriptions you add.
• Transaction information — bookings, payment status and messages related to your rentals. We do not collect or store your card, UPI or bank details — payments are processed and that information is held directly by Razorpay, our secure and authorized payment partner.
• Usage information — device, browser and log data collected automatically as you use SmarketHub.

• To operate, maintain and improve the SmarketHub platform.
• To process bookings, payments and payouts.
• To verify user identity and help keep the community safe.
• To send booking confirmations, service updates and, where permitted, marketing communications.
• To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or security issues.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Other users, as needed to facilitate a booking (e.g., name and contact details between a confirmed renter and owner).
• Service providers who help us operate the platform, such as our payment processor Razorpay and delivery partners.
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We use two kinds of cookies. Some are essential — they keep you signed in and remember your preferences — and are always active since the platform can't function properly without them. Others are analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, which help us understand how SmarketHub is used so we can improve it. These are optional and only load after you accept them in the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time from Cookie Preferences in the footer, or control cookies directly through your browser settings.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration or loss. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required under applicable law.

Some of our service providers, including cloud hosting and infrastructure partners, may process or store data outside India. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

You can update most account information directly from your profile settings, or contact our Grievance Officer (see Section 10) to exercise these rights.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize your data.

SmarketHub is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and rules made thereunder, you may reach our Grievance Officer with any complaints about how we handle your personal information:
